  • Presented original research in the session For Service or Profit: How Come Our Library Café is Not Profitable?  A Case Study of a Downtown Public Library Café in conjunction with Erin Price and Dr. Anthony Chow.

Guilford County School District Media Advisory Committee.  August 2010—Present.

My duties include:

  • Collaborating with committee on hearing and discussing reasons for/against media selection within Guilford County Schools.
  • Recording minutes and compiling final reports for the school board for each book challenge.  (Walter Dean Myers’ Hoops~2010; Isabelle Allende’s The House of the Spirits~2011; Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale~2013)
  • Reviewing, evaluating and voting on a variety of complaints alleged against each book.
